Colorado Water Stories is excited to partner with the City of Longmont Water Department, The Watershed Center, Dandelion Arts Collective, and Ollin Farms on this year’s events.

Colorado Water Stories is an ongoing arts and environment project that promotes water knowledge and celebration. We collaborate on community events and train leaders across disciplines to use creative practices to enliven their environmental missions. We believe that water has both scientific and spiritual power to generate lasting positive change in our community. Our goal is to bring people together across cultures, ages, languages, and fields of study to strengthen environmental education, build trust in the community, and deepen everyone’s connection to nature. We do this through curated production of free, family-centered community events, youth camps, and other collaborative projects. We host our events outdoors in nature sites where participants have direct contact with water in a natural environment. Our ultimate goals are to:

• Increase knowledge about how water moves through our community and the human impacts on water health and conservation

• Create and sustain spiritual practices of celebrating and honoring water

• Build social capital in our community while increasing cultural awareness and humility

• Increase time that people of all ages spend at local water sources

• Generate measurable change in mindset and behavior related to water conservation and caring for the natural environment.
