Let's put the People into People & Pollinators Action Network! š
PPAN's Bumble Bee Bash is a magical evening of bumblebees, beverages, bluegrass, and bug people š (I know we're taking it a little far with the alliteration, but it's so hard not to, for an organization working at the intersection of people, plants, policy, pollinators, and pesticides.)
Alliteration aside, this is the moment you've been waiting for. Whether this is your first Bash or your 10th, we want to celebrate with you in style on September 19th! (But like, earlyā4:30pm startāso we can all still get a good night's sleep : )
TheĀ Bumble Bee Bash is a beloved tradition for PPAN because it's not just a fundraiserāand it's also not your average farm dinner. You won't find yourself waiting in a seat to be served (although there will be plenty of chairs to rest in). You won't be put on the spot for a paddle-raise. And you won't leave feeling like you've just checked a box to support an important cause.
What you will find is friendsāchosen community of likeminded souls who care deeply about this world and recognize the foundational role that healthy pollinator populations play in wild, urban, and agricultural ecosystems.
What you will find is Colorado's leading bumblebee researcher, Dr. John Mola of CSU, answering all your questions and inspiring you with stories from his lab.
You'll find an open bar with beer, wine, mocktails, and specialty cocktails, as well as a generous spread of delicious food (with options for vegans, omnivores, and gluten-free folks). + Desserts! (obviously : )
You'll find live music from one of the Front Range's best up-and-coming musical groupsāthe all-ladies Grass Ceiling Band.
You'll find a silent auction with curated favorites for all you garden-crazy, gourmet pollinator people (people both online and in-person will be bidding, and you can take your winnings home with you).
Ā And, we're thrilled to be back at the historic Old Elm Farm just East of Boulder, which our host, Theresa Shuller, has restored and rebuilt into one of Boulder's most charming farm venues.
We do have a financial goal for this eventā$30,000ābut the real win for the evening will be the connections made. We have accomplished a lot in the past 10 years, and it's all been through partnership, alliances, and perseverance.
