About the event
As part of Colorado Pollinator Month, FANS of Washington Park will host a “Bio-Blitz” in Denver’s Washington Park, Mount Vernon Garden from 8 am to 9 am on Monday, June 30th.
We will use iNaturalist to document pollinators, birds and any non-plant organisms. iNaturalist is a community science project that contributes to our knowledge of the world’s biodiversity. It is also a fun way to learn about nature. Participants will need to download the free iNaturalist phone app, set up a login and spend some time learning the app. Camera users can go to the iNaturalist website, create an account and upload their images there.
We welcome all ages of participants. Children may wish to use the Seek app instead of iNaturalist. Seek will identify images but does not require a login and does not contribute to a citizen science project.
For those wishing a little help in learning iNaturalist, check out PPAN's Community Science in Action Webinar: Exploring Nature with iNaturalist with DU professor Julie Morris. View the recording!
Come to the gardens, have some fun and contribute to our knowledge of the natural world! For questions you may e-mail FANS of Washington Park
