Bret Turner is a Public Health Specialist with People & Pollinators Action Network and is a Hazardous Materials Specialist at the University of Colorado Anschutz. Bret has been a part of PPAN for 5 years, working on issues ranging from biodiversity and conservation to children’s health. He received his Master of Public Health degree in Global Environmental and Occupational Health from the Colorado School of Public Health and his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management from Penn State University. Bret works with PPAN to advance common-sense legislation protecting biodiversity and public health. He is also a board member of Healthy Air and Water Colorado.
Clare Burchenal is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a general outpatient pediatrician at the Denver Health Eastside Clinic. She is the Director of the Rocky Mountain Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit where she focuses on educating patients, communities and healthcare providers about how the environment impacts children’s health. She is a member of the Denver Health Sustainability Committee, Healthy Air and Water Colorado’s Advisory Committee, the Colorado Asthma Coalition and the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Environmental Health and Climate Change. Her clinical and research interests lie at the intersection of climate change, child health and environmental justice.
Vanessa Armstrong has been advocating to reduce and eliminate synthetic pesticides and fertilizers in her community since 2010. Her vision is to create social change towards a healthier future for our children and planet by creating awareness, legislative action, and market shifts. Originally from CA, where Vanessa had many pesticide wins, she's now based in Colorado and ready to continue the work. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business from California State University, Long Beach, a Permaculture Design Certificate from The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano and is an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP).
